Level 3 Māori

Course Description

This is a FOUR period a week course (Full year) which focuses on their proficiency, knowledge and understanding of the Maori language and culture. Learners work towards achieving standards based on Tuhituhi (writing) Panui (reading) Whakarongo (listening) and Korero (speaking). Learners can gain reading and writing Literacy credits and Maori is a UE approved subject.

Ākonga will explore a variety of topics including:

  • Whakapapa/Pepeha/Mihimihi
  • Ngā Tangata Rongonui
  • Te Ao Torotoro
  • I ngā wā o mua- Hītori Māori
