Level 1 English Literature

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs E. Bolland.

A course designed to prepare learners for the academic requirements of L2 Literature English L2ENLIT.

Learners will have the opportunity to gain fifteen Level 1 credits. Learners will be encouraged to

enter the Practice Exam and the L1 English External NZQA exam. Learners will develop

the appropriate oral, written and reading skills needed for L2 English through project work, text reviews,

connecting texts, and writing and reading activities.


Topics Covered:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of specific aspects of studied text.
  2. Develop ideas in writing using stylistic and written conventions.
  3. Demonstrate understanding of significant aspects of unfamiliar text.

Recommended Prior Learning

Year 10 English
