Level 3 Mathematics with Calculus
Within this course there are 2 options.
Option 1 : Is an academically challenging course where the focus is on the external achievement standards. This option is compulsory for anyone who wishes to study Engineering.
Option 2: Is a slightly easier option focusing more on Internal Mathematics standards.
Learners will decide for themselves which standards they will enter throughout the year.
AS91575 Apply Trigonometric Methods in solving problems ( Internal 4 Credits)
AS91578 Differentiation Methods in solving problems ( External 6 Credits)
AS91577 Apply the algebra of complex numbers in solving problems ( External 5 Credits)
AS91579 Apply integration methods in solving problems ( External 6 Credits)
AS91574 Apply linear programming methods in solving problems ( Internal 3 Credits)
AS91587 Apply systems of simultaneous equations in solving problems ( Internal 3 Credits)
Recommended Prior Learning
It is recommended that Learners have achieved with Merit in both AS91261 ( Algebra) and AS91262 ( Calculus)
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
Total Credits Available: 27 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 17 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 10 credits.
Approved subject for University Entrance
Number of credits that can be used for overall endorsement: 27
Applicants to New Zealand universities require 14 credits in three approved subjects. This course is an Approved Course for University Entrance
