Year 10 Chinese builds upon the skills developed in Year 9 Chinese, extending students’ ability to understand and express themselves in Chinese with richer vocabulary and sentence structures. It aims for learners to achieve communicative competence in a variety of everyday situations with different topics using Chinese pronunciation (‘pinyin’), Chinese character writing systems and Chinese typing. At the end of the course, students will be able to give extended information about themselves, families and friends, daily life, and the immediate environment. Learners will also explore the customs, history, and art forms of Chinese people to deepen their understanding of the culture through a range of cultural activities.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to communicate effectively in simple conversations on the following topics:
Topic 1: My school
Topic 2: Food & drink
Topic 3: Hobbies & sport
Topic 4: Daily routine
Topic 5: Weather & Transportation
Topic 6: Shopping
Topics Covered:

- Listening, reading & writing – Complete one assessment that tests listening, reading, and writing skills.
