This is a FOUR period a week course (Full year) which focuses on the Māori language and culture. Learners work towards achieving standards based on Tuhituhi (writing) Pānui (reading) Whakarongo (Listening) and Kōrero (speaking). Learners can gain reading and writing Literacy credits and Te Reo Māori is a UE approved subject.

Ākonga will explore a variety of topics including:

  • Whakapapa/Pepeha/Mihimihi
  • Ngā Tīkanga o te Marae
  • Tōku Ao Hurihuri
  • I ngā wā o mua- Hītori Māori
