About the course selection
Year 7 to Year 8
The core subjects in Year 8 are:
English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Health, Physical Education, and Maori
To select your options:
* Choose FOUR courses from the options below. You must choose one from each heading, the fourth can come from any column
* Subjects are arranged by learning area
Year 8 to Year 9
The core subjects in Year 9 are:
English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Health and Physical Education.
To select your options:
* Choose FOUR courses from the options below. You must choose one option from Languages, Arts and Technology the fourth can come from any column
* Subjects are arranged by learning area.
Year 9 to Year 10
The core subjects In Year 10 are:
English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Health and Physical Education.
To select your options:
* Choose any FOUR courses from the options below
* Subjects are arranged by learning area
Year 10 to Year 11
The core subject in Year 11 is:
Mathematics.
(The Mathematics course that you are enrolled in will be decided by the HoL based on your results in the subject his year).
Next..
* Choose FOUR full courses and TWO half courses from the options below
* You MUST take either a full course or a half course in PE or Dance
* You cannot take both the full course and the half course for a given subject. Eg: You can't do both L1SCIE01 and any Level 1 Science half course
* Subjects are arranged by learning area and you are allowed to take more than one course per learning area (eg: you could take both History and Business Studies).
NB: If you wish to take two "different" full Technology courses this is fine. However, you will need to discuss this further with a Technology Teacher

* Consider your interests, abilities in different subjects, and your career and life plans
NB: If you would like to take two "different" Technology courses, this is fine. However, you will need to discuss this further with a Technology Teacher
Year 12 to Year 13
* Choose FIVE courses.
* Consider your interests, abilities in different subjects and your career and life plans
