Level 1 Design
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs K. Boyd.
This Visual Arts Course will focus on Design. Learners will develop skills predominately in print design using practical art processes (drawing, collage) and then transferring ideas into digital images using indesign/photoshop software. An investigation into local history informs one of the assessment standards. Learners will develop ideas in typography, poster design and branding. Learners will need to have a laptop with sufficient memory to manage the software required.
If you have an interest in developing digital art skills this course would be suitable.
This course is a highly recommended pre-requisite for study in Level 2 Design as it builds on skills and knowledge required for the Level 2 Design programme.
**Please note that there are only three Achievement standards available in Level 1 Visual Arts. It is recommended that learners select either L1 Design OR L1 Visual Art due to the cross over of credits.
