Level 3 Chemistry

Course Description

This course is designed for learners wishing to continue on with a Chemistry related course at university. It consists of three theoretical units covering Particles & Thermochemistry, Organic Chemistry and Aqueous Solutions and an additional standard on Spectroscopy which will be offered outside of normal school hours. The internal standard in the second term involves an intense investigation over a period of two weeks which develops good analytical skills for university. High achieving learners will be encouraged to enrol for the Scholarship Chemistry examination.

Recommended Prior Learning

Learners must have satisfactorily completed NCEA level 2 with a minimum of 11 credits in Level 2 Chemistry
