Course Description

This course is designed for learners who want to pursue a future in Food Technology, encompassing both academic knowledge and practical skills. It explores various topics related to food and nutrition, including hygiene and safe food practices, the nutritional needs of adolescents, cultural aspects, and factors that influence well-being. In addition to theoretical learning, learners will also acquire hands-on practical skills that complement the course material.
Course content: Learners will complete three projects during the year including:
- Designing a freezable nutritious meal to be donated to Love Soup.
- Creating a culturally infused bread product for a client.
- Drinks and Nibbles, create mocktails and nibbles.

NOTE:AS 92012 is also used in 11CLTX and 11 MTEC
please be aware that this standard will only be awarded once therefore if a learner wants to take both of these subjects it is advisable to chat with the HOL
