Course Description

A Building, Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) work based learning program for learners to gain theoretical and practical skills in the Building and Construction fields. Learners undertake three Unit standards (with a maximum of 16 credits) and learn to safely use hand, power and fixed machinery tools throughout the course. Theory components to this course furnish learners with a solid technical understanding to back up practical experience. Standards undertaken are: Safe Workplace Practice, Hand tools, Portable Power Tools. During the course, there are skills in communication, literacy, maths, quality standards, workshop procedures, freehand sketching, job specifications, health and safety. * Please note this is a Unit Standard course resulting in Achieved or Not Achieved grades.
